Derek is the head of Portfolio Development at Salesforce Ventures. He and his team are responsible for helping entrepreneurs accelerate growth and engaging with IT executives within our Innovation Advisory Board and broader corporate network.

Prior to joining Salesforce Ventures, Derek served as the Senior Director of Business Development at Sapphire Ventures, supporting their business applications portfolio and CIO network. Before working in VC, Derek helped scale multiple startups as a GTM operator in the software integration, digital identity, and food tech industries. Derek is based out of San Francisco and holds a BA from UC Berkeley as well as advanced degrees from University of Oxford and University of Cape Town.
